I love a good “No Makeup” makeup day, don’t you? Well, you will now! I’m embarrassed to admit that for someone who loves makeup as much as I do and to own as much as I do, I don’t really wear a lot. I’ve spent so much time learning how to enhance the features of my face with as minimal of product as possible to get me a lit from within glow and i’m so excited to share it with you! To keep things simple, i’ll include links to all the products I used in tonights live glam session on the Jules and James facebook page so shopping is easy! And if you’re on a budget, I got you too! Most of the products have an affordable counter partner and I will leave those for you as well! Happy Glamming Friends!
Step 1- SPF- Always start your beauty routine with a facial SPF! I prefer Supergoop Uunseen SPF 45 because it basically feels like i’ve added nothing to my skin, but you’re welcome to use whatever works for you!
Step 2- Pore Filling Primer- The key to making your skin look super smooth is starting with a smooth canvas. Using a pore filling primer with a silicon base allows for the product to fill in your pores and give you the appearance of smooth skin! Tonight I used Benefit PoreFessional Primer but an affordable dupe would be the Maybelline Baby Skin Primer! Which ever you choose, apply the product into the areas only where you have visible pores (T zone) and use pressing motions to really get the product into your skin! Don’t over use, a very small amount goes a long way. Too much product can cause your makeup to pull up and look cakey!
Step 3- Moisturizing Primer- This step is optional based on if you have dry or oily skin. If you’re oily, no need to do this step. But my dry skinned gals, this one is a must! I love the Face Filter primer from Tula because it is slightly tinted and very moisturizing. It blurs your skin while giving it a burst of hydration! I don’t know a dupe for this product but if you buy anything from this list, invest in this one! I also have a discount code to save you 15%- code is (GREENWELL)
Step 4- Conceal any spot concerns!- This is also optional based on your skin. If you have small breakouts, this one will be a good step for you- if not then just skip! Take a concealer that is the same shade as your face and lightly dab a few products onto those areas. Blend out using your {CLEAN} ring finger and press that product into the skin to make sure it is blended well. If you have dark circles under your eyes, do this same method but with a concealer that is 1-2 shades lighter than your skin. Start your product well below the eye and blend upward, not opposite. *Concealer recommendations-Hourglass Vanish Airbrush concealer or the Maybelline Age Rewind!
Step 5- Brighten the skin- My favorite step of all! I love a good bright and glowy look and using the Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Flawless filter does just that! It doesn’t give your face any sort of coverage, it is just a nice glow. I also use the Tarte Glow wand in shade Alight under my eyes to brighten my under eyes. But you can use the CT filter under your eyes as well. Doesn’t matter! A good dupe for this is the L’oreal Glotion! Does the same thing, make sure to get the shade best fit for your skin tone!
Step 6- Cream blush- I know this sounds intimidating, but trust me. The trick to no makeup makeup is to use as few powder products as possible so using a cream blush keeps the skin nice and plump! I love the Glossier cloud paints because it takes very little product to achieve a gorgeous wash of color on your cheeks! The shade Puff is a rosy pink color that is super dainty and pretty! Simply take a small amount of product and blend into the apples of your cheeks using clean fingers or a beauty sponge! A good affordable dupe for those are the Maybelline Cheek Heat blushes! Tons of similar colors and the product is almost spot on to the same thing!
Step 7- Powder- You used quite a few “wet” products on your skin, so it’s time to set all of those into place! I love the Charlotte Tilbury Airbush finishing powder because it locks all the products into my skin without looking like a heavy powder. I always tell people it is the holy grail of all powders because it’s so finely milled that even someone with super dry skin can use it without feeling cakey! Finding a dupe for this is almost impossible but I think the closest i’ve ever come is with the Flower Beauty Light illusion powders. They are almost always sold out though!
Step 8- Bronzer- This is the only other powder product I use simply because I haven’t mastered the art of cream bronzers, they scare me! My all time favorite bronzer is from Marc Jacobs and it’s the Tan Tastic Omega bronzer. Yes, it’s boujee but it’s 100% worth it. The product itself last forever and smells like coconuts so it’s a total win. For a good dupe, try the Physicians Formula Butter Bronzers. Pretty much the same thing, it just has a bit of a shine to it so it’s not the best for those that tend to get oily!
Step 9- Eyes- I use quite a few eyeshadow palettes and can honestly say I don’t have one that sticks out to me to be the best of the best. Drugstore eyeshadows are really stepping their game up so just about any eyeshadow you’ve got will work. Just stick with very light/natural colors and nothing to dark. If you must have a recommendation, I do love the Charlotte Tilbury cream shadows. They are like a one and done type thing for me that I can blend out with my fingers and be done! An affordable dupe would be the Maybelline Color Tattoo cream shadows!
Step 10- Brows- Since I had my eyebrows microbladed my brow routine is minimal. I simply use tinted brow gel to fan my hairs out to give myself a natural brow look! My all time favorite brow products are from Benefit. I use the Gimmie Brow in shades 2&3 and then the 24 Hour brow setter on my entire brow to lock it all in place! Affordable dupes- Maybelline Brow Fast
Step 10- Mascara- Mascara is a tricky one for me to suggest a product to you because everyone has their own wants with their lashes. Some want volume, others want length. What I can suggest it the 5 trio set of mascara from Sephora that let’s you sample 5 of their best selling mascaras for $28 and it comes with a voucher to claim a free full size mascara at no additional cost. It’s a genius way to find what is best for you!
Step 11- Set your fact with setting spray- This step is all drug store girl. Pixi has the best dewy setting spray that truly makes your skin go from flat to gorgeous! It’s the Pixi Milky Mist and I LOVE this stuff! I just spritz it all over my face, fan it until it’s dry and I have a gorgeous glow!
Hope you guys enjoyed this little tutorial!
