For the past year I have made a strong focus to switch out a lot of the products I was using in my (& our kids) skincare routines to cleaner ingredients. Did you know some of the commonly used ingredients in skincare are the same ones used to preserve bodies in a morgue? EWW! So I went down the rabbit hole and discovered Beauty Counter. I know I know, MLM right? Well, the cool thing about Beauty Counter is even though it’s technically a MLM company, you don’t have to go through a consultant to order, you can simply go straight to the website so there is zero pressure. Which made me dig deeper. They have a list of over 1,800 ingredients that they do not use in their products and they are very transparent about what those are and why they are left out. Click here to see that full list So I decided to take the plunge and order some products for both myself and my kiddos and below you will find my honest (No holding back) reviews on each product we have been using!
Countercontrol Clear Pore Cleanser- If you’ve been around for a while, you’ll know my struggle with acne was intense. I (used to) get horrible cystic acne break outs that left me scared and in pain for weeks. Despite all efforts to change my routine, nothing helped. So I decided to try this cleanser out. To say i’m impressed is an understatement. I tried a sample of this first before purchasing the full size and was immediately thrilled at how well it cleansed my skin and left my face feeling fresh and like it could take a deep breath. It has tiny exfoliating beads that gently exfoliated the top layer of skin and allowed the ingredients to really sink down into my skin and help fight off acne causing bacteria. I’ve been using it for 3 months straight now and have noticed a huge difference in my overall skin, and guess what? No break outs at all! If you struggle with acne, this would be an awesome cleanser for you!
Counter+ Lotus Glow Cleansing Balm– I’ll be honest, I didn’t think I would love this. And I honestly don’t use it for what it was designed to do, which is cleanse the skin. This is a cleansing balm and is wonderful to remove makeup with before going in with your traditional cleanser. But it did not do enough for me. I have never been a fan of cleansing balms and this wasn’t terrible, I just choose a different form of cleansing. But what I do love this for is as a nighttime hydrating mask. I will go through my entire beauty routine and then lather this on my face, sleep on it and wake up feeling super hydrated and glowy. It’s also amazing on any rashes, cuts, sun burns and many other skin issues. We used this on my son when we were battling dark stages of a post vaccine injury related skin issue and it helped tremendously with keeping his skin hydrated.
Counter+ Overnight Resurfacing Peel– it’s true what they say, this is like Botox in a bottle. This little serum contains AHA/BHAs which help to exfoliate the top layer of skin to allow for new skin growth and give you an overall youthful appearance. I use this every other night after cleansing right before my moisturizer and I truly do notice a difference in the texture and overall look of my skin. It helps fight pre-mature wrinkles, dark spots and more and over time will truly be able to give your skin a gorgeous Glow! I suggest using this very sparingly at first until your skin adjust because the acids can be strong for some.
Counter+ All Bright C Serum– Sunshine in a bottle, literally. Vitamin C is my favorite skincare product out there for so many reasons. It’s ability to reduce dark spots and signs of aging all while preventing new ones is insane! I use this every single day right after cleansing and right before moisturizing. One pump goes a long way! Always follow up with SPF!
Counter+ Charcoal Face Mask– One of my favorite type of masks is a good charcoal mask. I don’t think this one from BeautyCounter is a show stopper, but it does the job well! I use this about 2 times a week for 15 minutes at a time to allow my face a “Deep Cleanse” and clean out any junk in my pores.
Countertime Ultra Renewal Eye Cream– My new go to eye cream for sure! I began using this most recently (about 2 months) and have definitely noticed a difference in my under eye area. I have VERY dry skin under my eyes which tends to make makeup cake and crease. I always apply a thin layer of this before my makeup and my under eye area is smooth and crease free. It also gives me a slight glow without being too much. Works well as a night time eye cream and also under makeup, the perfect eye cream for sure!
Dew Skin Tinted Moisturizer– Before using this, I was using 3 products that make up for this one. An SPF, a moisturizer and tinting drops. All of those products together added up to over $150. So when I found this for less than $45, it was a no brainer. This product has become my holy grail. If you know me, you know I don’t use foundation at all. I’ve always been a tinted moisturizer or BB cream kind of girl so this was a huge success for me! The perfect amount of color, great moisture and the most gorgeous glow you’ve ever seen, this product is amazing! I use the shade medium! If I ever need a bit more coverage on top, I just add concealer to the areas I need the additional coverage and i’m good to go! I use this alone on “no makeup” days and also on my full glam days! The SPF 20 is just enough to keep my skin protected without feeling super heavy!
The Kids Collection– We switched to this kids collection when Carter’s rash started and let me just say we will never go back to anything else. Fragrance free, cleans well and is super gentle on sensitive skin. Anything and everything you could want in a kids line!
CounterBaby Baby Oil– This was a life savor on Carter’s dry skin during our skin battle. We would apply a few pumps of this to any areas he had extremely dry skin and could tell an immediate difference. The skin soaks it up very well and it does not leave the area overly slick and greasy!
Baby Daily Protective Balm– We used this as a balm to go over diaper rash creams! Its almost like an aquaphor consistency but with so much better ingredients! This can also be used as a nipple balm for nursing mothers and works so well! Hint Hint- gift this to your expecting mama friends, they will thank you later!
That’s my full review on the products I have used and tested. If you want to shop, I would absolutely love to be your consultant and answer any questions you may have! I’m not here to sell you something you don’t need, I will only tell you what I think is the best fit for you. Shop my page here!
